Young Voices Concerts 2006 - Schedule for concert day

Times on the day

Date: Thursday, 30th November

1.45 - 2.15pm  Choirs arrive at the arena and teacher in charge will lead their choir to their seats. (Teachers will receive full details of choir seating in the arena and teachers sitting with the choir approximately one week before the concert date.) Final numbers of the choir must be confirmed NO LATER than the end of September.

2.45pm  Rehearsal commences (Late choirs will miss start)

5.30pm  Rehearsal for the choir ends and children can take a one hour tea break. Children will need to bring a packed tea or if they would like to buy any food/drinks the arena food outlets will be open during this period. Children must not leave the arena.

6.30pm  Children must be back in their designated seats ready for the concert.

7.30pm  Concert commences.

9.30pm  Concert ends.

Close of event

All children should remain in their seats until the audience has dispersed. Coaches will return to school where the children will be collected by parents. Any variation to this arrangement must be agreed with the teacher in charge.

Dress

This years‘s Official Young Voices Tee-shirt will be "WHITE" and should be worn by the whole choir, including teachers. (Order forms can be found in the front pocket of the Music Pack). NO OTHER COLOURS ARE PERMITTED. Any dark skirt or trousers will be acceptable.

Coats and bags

Children should keep coats and bags with them and store under their choir seats.

Tiny torches and Santa hats

Once again, we would encourage children to bring a tiny battery operated torch to add to the excitement of the lighting effects in the arenas. (Torches must have protected bulb for safety and be tiny with no beam...torches with beam destroy the starlight effect and will not be allowed and will be confiscated.) Red and White Santa hats will add to the effect in some selected songs.

Banners

Once again, we would like all schools to bring along their banners (not compulsory) as this helps parents identify their schools via the banner during the concert..it also creates a challenge for your art department. Banners may include charity logos and the Young Voices logo as well as the school name.

Music Sheets

NO music sheets are allowed by our conductor, however, any children who have been unable to learn all of the songs by heart may use small crib cards in the palm of the hand.

Audience tickets

All tickets will be sent direct to the school nearer the concert date. Don not forget best tickets will go first and many schools now send orders in batches so that early parents get good seats. (Order forms can be found in the front pocket of the Music Pack). Last year three of the four concerts were completely sold out before concert week so don‘t delay to avoid disappointment.
