Adam O’Shea

Adam O’SheaAdam has been singing publicly since he was 4 when he volunteered, without any prompting, to enter a talent show at Blackpool Tower! He flourished at Bamford Primary School in Rochdale, where his teachers encouraged him to perform in shows and concerts.

Since then Adam has won various local and national competitions. Earlier this year he won five trophies, including Outstanding Performance in Festival.

Adam has performed for the Manchester Consular Association, the Rotary Club of Great Britain and also at the Royal Albert Hall in the Music for Youth Schools’ Prom. He performed there again last November as part of an Acapella Quartet called Just 4. This engagement was as a result of winning the coveted ‘Outstanding Performance Award’ at the ‘National Festival of Music for Youth’ in July.

So successful was their performance that the boys were invited to perform at the National Union of Teachers’ Annual Conference in Harrogate this Easter.

Adam is also a keen pianist and last year was awarded a music bursary from the BBC Fame Academy. He followed this up by being awarded a piano trophy earlier this year.

On top of his busy schedule, he still manages to find time for dance and drama lessons. He has performed at the ‘Palace Theatre’, Manchester as part of the ‘Clear Channel Youth Theatre’ production of ‘South Pacific’ and ‘Guys and Dolls’.

At 14 years old, Adam attends Oulder Hill School, is a member of their school choir and loves taking part in any productions they put on.

Adam is also member of the National Youth Training Choir of Great Britain and this summer performed in Coventry Cathedral.

He is a member of ‘Rochdale Youth Choir’ and has voice lessons with James Lewis at Rochdale Music Service.

Adam has a wide musical interest - anything from K T Tunstall, Lily Allen, ‘Kate Bush’ to more classical tastes. He also likes Friends, Dead Ringers, Chinese food and playing Twister!

Without doubt, we’ll see more of this multi-talented young man in the future.
