Adam O’Shea
Adam has been singing publicly since he was 4 when he volunteered, without any prompting, to enter a talent show at Blackpool Tower!
Since then he has won various local and national competitions Including ‘Outstanding Overall Performance’ at the "Rochdale Music Festival" in 2006 and several trophies every year since 2003.
Adam is a member of National Youth Northern Boys Choir of Great Britain.
In 2004 he performed at a charity event for the ‘Manchester Consular Association’ and also at the Royal Albert Hall for the ‘Music for Youth Schools’ Prom and will appear again this November as part of an Acapella Quartet called ‘Just 4’. This recent engagement is as a result of winning the coveted ‘Outstanding Performance Award’ at this year's ‘National Festival of Music for Youth’ in July.
Adam is a keen pianist and this year was awarded a music bursary from the ‘BBC Fame Academy’ to purchase a digital piano.
On top of his busy schedule, he still manages to find time for dance lessons and, with a love for musical theatre, performed this August at the ‘Palace Theatre’, Manchester as part of the ‘Clear Channel Youth Theatre’ production of ‘South Pacific’. Last year he performed in ‘Guys and Dolls’.
He has also taken part in several local ‘Gilbert & Sullivan’ productions.
At 13 years old, Adam attends ‘Oulder Hill School’, is a member of their school choir and loves taking part in any productions they put on. Earlier this year Adam won an award for ‘best newcomer’ for his part as the Wall in ‘Midsummer Night’s Dream’ in the school production.
He will begin training with the well-respected Oldham Theatre Workshop this Autumn.
Adam has a wide musical interest - anything from ‘Kaiser Chiefs’, ‘K T Tunstall’, ‘Lily Allen’, ‘Kate Bush’ to more classical tastes. He also likes ‘Big Brother’, ‘Little Britain’ and ‘Dead Ringers’!
Adam is a member of ‘Rochdale Youth Choir’ and has voice lessons with James Lewis at Rochdale Music Service.
I am sure we will be seeing much more of this extremely talented young man in the future!
